One of Morimoto’s most ambitious sculptural works to date, this standing sculpture was at one time exhibited at New York University, inside the departmental office designed by famed American architect Maya Lin.  With meticulously stacked and burned pieces of wood, this piece speaks to Morimoto’s ambitions to produce large-scale artworks, as well as a willingness to harness flames as an act of creation. Almost appearing in dialogue with the remains of the fire, this piece is a poetic testament to the beauty of elegance of natural forms and what can happen when the elements encounter one another.
